DIY Nail Polish Shelf/Rack

Like every girl out there, I own some nail polish. Okay, okay. 74 might not be some...I'm not the only one with 74 nail polishes, right? (O__O) Moving on...With so many nail polishes, there weren't some many places I could store it except in a shoe box, which isn't very practical nor pretty. I would show you a picture of how I stored it before in a shoe box but I'll spare you the sight. (^__^) So I decided I needed a new way to store it. A couple videos from YT later and I found the perfect tutorial:

I absolutely love her idea but her rack/shelf thing wasn't going to fit the space I wanted to put mine. It also wasn't going to be able to hold all of my nail polishes. (I estimated off of one of her pictures and it seem like it could only hold around 54 nail polishes.) So I decided to revise her tutorial to fit my needs. Mine turned out to be wider and fits about 76 ish polishes, give or take a few.

Package from Japan & Decoden iTouch Results

I came home last night and found that my package from Japan had finally arrived! Yay~ It's been a painful 3-4 weeks waiting for it to come. (T__T) According to Yukie, owner of fullmoon07xxx, it was suppose to come in 1-2 weeks. I'm thinking the delay was caused by the post office being busy because of the holidays, so I don't blame Yukie. (^__^) Below is the contents of my package:

Everything was nicely packaged in tiny plastics and wrapped in bubble wrap.
bubble wrap = hours of entertainment

  1. Clear Rhinestones 5mm
  2. White Pearl 3mm, 5mm, 6mm (used them all up before I remembered to take a picture...oops xD)
  3. Clear Rhinestones 3mm
  4. Black Rhinestones 5mm & Ribbon 22x35mm (Color: Black)

  5. Present for mentioning a name

6.  Ribbon 8x12mm (Color: Light Pink) & Mouse Cup Cake 16x18mm (Color: White)
7.  Ring 2cm diameter x4
8.  MOBILE STRAP 1Piece
9.  Lame Ribbon 8x12mm (Color: Light Pink) & Big K Ribbon 35x60mm (Color: Pink)
*Not pictured are Love Heart Angel 13mm x 28mm (Color: Light Pink), Big K Ribbon 35x60mm (Color: Light Pink), & Lollie 15x22mm and the rest of the pearls because they were used in my iPod case*
These weren't from Yukie, they're the tools I used for my deco den project.
10. E-600 Glue
I haven't really tried any other glue so I can't compare but this glue was pretty awesome. So far my rhinestones haven't fallen off ,haven't become cloudy and the glue dries clear. It is kind of hard to work with though because it dries pretty quickly (like 5min?), stinks, and hard to control the amount that was coming out. In my opinipn, the texture resembles hot glue. :D
11.  Picker Up-er and Nudging Tool (?)
To tell the truth, or if you can't already tell...it's just a lead pencil with mounting putty on its tip. It looks shabby but hey! It does it's job perfectly.  ヾ(^∇^)

Finished Product
This took 2-3 hours of hard labor and massive amounts of should and neck pain but it's worth it! It turned out so pretty and shiny <3 There's definitely a few mistakes here and there but it's not that noticeable. (^__^) I was planning on having the whole thing being covered with just pearls but after finishing the front part, I knew there was no way that I would have enough for the back. I was forced to use the clear rhinestones to finish it up. (.___.  ) Oh well, at least it's INSANELY SHINY on the back now and if I wanted to blind somebody with it by tilting it to catch the sunlight, I now can.

Avocado Hair Mask Results

First things first, a little hair history from me. ;D I've never dyed my hair before but it's pretty damaged because I frequently straighten it. (I do use heat protectant though when I straighten. >__<) My hair also gets extremely frizzy and nappy(?) after I wash my hair and let it air dry. One thing basically leads to another. To combat frizzy hair, I straighten my hair, when I straighten it, it gets damaged, when it's damaged, it looks frizzy and the opposite of silky and so on and so on. I finally decided to break the cycle and try to combat the frizzy-ness by using a hair mask.

Straight Bangs Verses Side Bangs?

There are always pros and cons to everything and anything. ALWAYS. Go ahead. Try to prove me wrong. Vegetables? Good for health, but doesn't provide certain nutrients that humans need. Cookie Monster? Cute, cuddly, educational but teaches kids its okay to binge on cookies. (Too bad cookies aren't healthy...) How you style your bangs are no exception. It may sound silly but I actually found the choice of either side bangs or straight bangs, difficult. I desperately looked for articles or blog posts that talked about the choice to help me decide but could find none. Now, after personally going through the process twice, I decided I could share my thoughts about it. Maybe I'm just crazy and there's no one out there looking for this article but I'm hoping this will be at least helpful for someone out there?

NOTD: Frenchie Nails + NYC Quick Dry Review

Ello there~

Recently, I've been liking the look of the french manicure. It just looks so simple, elegant, and beautiful. In the past, all I ever did was use white nail polish straight across the top but I did hear of people using a nude base first before. It just so happened that my 姐姐 bought a nude nail polish from the NYC Quick Dry line the other day so I decided to use that for my frenchies.  Here they are:

MUAHAHAHA I'M STRANGLING HAMTARO!

~just kidding~

(From left to right)
Nail Polish Used

  1. Sally Hasen Maximum Growth Pure White Tip (I don't think they have this line anymore)
  2. NYC In a New York Color Minute  Mulberry Street
  3. Sally Hasen Super Shine Top (just got this top coat, might write a review on it later on how long this nails hold up. ^__^)

Review
If you read my previous post before, NOTD: Pastel Polka Dot Nails, you'll know that this wasn't my first time using NYC nail polish. ( ゚ヮ゚) The ones I used before were only from the Long Wearing line though and they were always only about a dollar and came in many colors. The In a Minute line cost slightly more though, around two dollars. (Not that much more, I know xD) Let me tell you, there things dry SUPER DUPER UPER fast. It's incredible. They'll be dry to the touch in as quick as one minute! It's really convenient for me because I am a klutz and will ruin my nails like that.
*snaps fingers*
They also come in a variety of color. Speaking of color, my sisterand I originally bought this thinking that it was a nude color and in the bottle that's what it looked like. Out of the bottle, it was a different story. It turned out a lot more pink and shimmery then we thought and would have wanted it to be. Not that it was a bad thing, it's just that we wanted a nude color. Get it?
Other than that thought, I really liked this nail polish and will buy more colors from this line....as soon as I make room in my nail polish collection. (´;ω;`)

Pros : Dries super quick! Really cheap and comes in a lot of colors~
Cons : Heard it chips easily, haven't it experienced it yet. (Nothing a good top coat can't fix, right? xD) Color inside doesn't match that of outside. (That's just me probably... O___O)

Verdict : Will definitely be buying more from this line! (^o^)
